May the 4th 2026: The Full Promotional Picture

The four confirmed Mandalorian and Grogu sets represent the opening wave for May the 4th 2026, but LEGO's annual Star Wars celebration typically includes additional elements that make it the year's most significant promotional event.

Rumoured UCS Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter

Strong rumours suggest a UCS-scale Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter could anchor May the 4th 2026 as the flagship Ultimate Collector Series release. Din Djarin's rebuilt Naboo N-1 has become one of modern Star Wars' most recognizable vehicles since appearing in The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.

A LEGO Star Wars UCS N-1 would mark the first Ultimate Collector Series version of this ship, following LEGO's historical pattern of introducing vehicles at play scale before elevating them to UCS status. The sleek Naboo design combined with exposed mechanical modifications and retro hot-rod styling creates immediate display appeal required for UCS treatment.

The timing aligns perfectly with The Mandalorian & Grogu theatrical release, positioning the UCS N-1 to capitalize on renewed media attention. Previous UCS ships tied to high-profile Star Wars content have performed exceptionally well post-retirement, with first-in-category UCS sets often outperforming later remakes.

Rumored Darksaber Lightsaber Hilt GWP

May the 4th promotions traditionally include exclusive gift-with-purchase items that become some of LEGO's most valuable promotional releases. Rumours suggest LEGO 40917 The Darksaber could be 2026's May the 4th GWP, continuing the lightsaber hilt tradition established with Yoda's Lightsaber (2019), Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber with AT-AT (2021), and Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber with Jabba's Sail Barge (2024).

All three previous lightsaber GWPs now sell for $150-$240 on secondary markets, with each selling for over $100 immediately after promotional windows ended. The Darksaber's prominence in The Mandalorian and distinctive flat black blade with white edge distinguishes it from previous lightsaber GWPs while tapping into current Mandalorian momentum.

If accurate, the Darksaber represents potentially massive investment opportunity based on the proven track record of lightsaber hilt GWPs becoming some of LEGO's most valuable promotional items.

Enhanced LEGO Insiders Points

LEGO Insiders points are another major variable in the May the 4th value equation. The base return rate is roughly 5% in points, but May promotions have historically enhanced that structure.

In most years, LEGO has offered double points across the Star Wars theme during the promotional window. On occasion, selected sets have qualified for 4x points, and while 5x points have appeared in the past, these are rare and typically highly targeted rather than applied across the full theme.

For 2026, the most realistic expectation is double Insiders points across LEGO Star Wars, with the possibility of 4x points on selected headline sets. A full-theme 5x multiplier appears unlikely.

At scale, points materially affect cost basis. For example, a £200 purchase at 4x points effectively returns around £40 in future LEGO credit. For collectors building display collections and investors establishing positions, that adjustment meaningfully improves long-term return calculations.

Discounts on Retiring Sets

LEGO traditionally discounts retiring Star Wars sets during May the 4th, creating final purchase opportunities before sets transition to secondary markets. For investors, this represents last chance to secure retiring sets at or below RRP before post-retirement appreciation begins.

LEGO Star Wars Investment Context

LEGO Star Wars stands as one of the most consistently strong-performing investment themes since launching in 1999, with nearly 1,000 sets delivering 11% average annualised growth across retirements. The theme benefits from multigenerational appeal, constant content pipeline through films and TV series, and devoted collector base willing to pay premiums for exclusive releases.

May the 4th concentrates Star Wars collecting activity into single promotional window, creating urgency that drives both immediate sales and long-term demand for exclusive items like GWPs. The combination of new releases, enhanced points, GWPs, and retiring set discounts positions May the 4th as the year's most significant Star Wars investment opportunity.

The four confirmed Mandalorian and Grogu sets tap into one of Star Wars' strongest modern sub-themes, with Din Djarin and Grogu driving substantial merchandise demand since their 2019 debut. The Mandalorian & Grogu theatrical release will likely drive renewed interest in these characters and vehicles throughout 2026.

Final Thoughts

LEGO Star Wars May the 4th 2026 launches with four confirmed Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu sets now available for pre-order and shipping April 26th. LEGO 75447 Razor Crest at $149.99, LEGO 75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice) at $129.99, LEGO 75445 Anzellan Starship at $74.99, and LEGO 75444 AT-RT Attack at $44.99 provide comprehensive coverage of the upcoming film's key vehicles and characters.

But these four sets represent just the opening wave. Rumours suggest additional releases including potential UCS Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter, Darksaber lightsaber hilt GWP, and 2x LEGO Insiders points making May the 4th 2026 one of the year's most significant Star Wars promotional events.
