LEGO Ideas Third 2025 Review Selects Three Winning Projects
LEGO has officially announced the results of the third 2025 LEGO Ideas Review, confirming that three fan-designed projects will now progress into full development as official LEGO® Ideas sets.
The successful designs are:
- Jumanji Board Game by PrehistoricHamster051
- Universal Monsters by SpectralBricks
- LEGO Kimonos by TheDriXx
The winning trio showcases exactly what makes LEGO Ideas unique, combining iconic entertainment licences with original artistic concepts that would be unlikely to appear elsewhere in the LEGO portfolio.
LEGO Jumanji Board Game Brings a Classic Film to Life
Perhaps the most nostalgic announcement is the Jumanji Board Game, inspired by the unforgettable magical game from the beloved 1995 film.
The original fan submission faithfully recreates the mysterious wooden game board that sits at the heart of the movie, making it an instantly recognisable display piece for film fans. During development, LEGO's designers may choose to expand the concept with minifigures, hidden play features or additional references from the film, although the final design is likely to evolve considerably before release.
With movie-inspired LEGO sets continuing to attract strong collector interest, Jumanji has the potential to become one of the most talked-about LEGO Ideas releases when it eventually launches.
LEGO Universal Monsters Celebrates Classic Horror Icons
The second successful project takes inspiration from some of cinema's most legendary horror characters.
Designed around an atmospheric gothic castle, Universal Monsters brings together classic creatures within an intricately detailed display model. Its combination of dramatic architecture and iconic horror licences could make it a popular seasonal release, particularly around Halloween, while also appealing to fans of classic cinema and display-focused LEGO builds.
The gothic styling also feels perfectly suited to the LEGO Ideas theme, where highly detailed architectural models have consistently proven popular with adult builders.
LEGO Kimonos Offers a Beautiful Display Model
Completing the trio is LEGO Kimonos, a project that takes LEGO Ideas in an entirely different artistic direction.
The original design features two elegant brick-built figures dressed in traditional Japanese kimonos, showcasing intricate colours, flowing shapes and decorative patterns. Rather than focusing on play, the concept is designed as a sophisticated display piece that would sit comfortably alongside LEGO's expanding collection of home décor and botanical sets.
As with all approved LEGO Ideas projects, the final version will almost certainly undergo significant refinement during the official design process, but the artistic vision behind the submission has already attracted widespread praise.
LEGO Ideas Parking Lot Adds Four More Promising Projects
Not every project receives an immediate approval or rejection. LEGO has also confirmed that four additional submissions have been placed into the LEGO Ideas Parking Lot, where they will receive further consideration by the LEGO Ideas Review Board.
The latest additions are:
- Naruto: Ichiraku Ramen Shop by DadiTwins
- Bob's Burgers: Grand Re-Opening by Greygo
- iMac G3 by terauma
- Hollow Knight: A Journey to Hallownest by PingouinRainbowDash
These projects now join existing Parking Lot entries:
- Daft Punk Concert by RobotRock
- Lunch Atop a Skyscraper by DallasBricks
Being placed in the Parking Lot is far from a rejection. Instead, it allows LEGO additional time to assess commercial viability, licensing agreements and where a project might fit within the future release schedule.
The process has already proved successful in previous years, with projects including Downton Abbey and The Old Man and the Sea eventually progressing to become official LEGO Ideas sets after spending time in the Parking Lot.
Among this latest group, Naruto, Bob's Burgers and Hollow Knight all bring established global fanbases, while the colourful iMac G3 could appeal strongly to collectors of retro technology and Apple memorabilia.
LEGO Ideas Continues to Showcase the Best of Fan Creativity
One of the greatest strengths of LEGO Ideas has always been its diversity. Rather than following a single theme, the platform regularly delivers everything from licensed entertainment and architecture to fine art and cultural display models.
This latest review perfectly illustrates that philosophy. A nostalgic film icon, a celebration of classic horror and a striking artistic display piece represent three completely different building experiences, ensuring there is something to appeal to a broad range of LEGO fans.
Although these sets are unlikely to arrive for at least another year—LEGO Ideas projects typically spend many months in development before release—they already provide an exciting glimpse at the future of one of LEGO's most creative themes.
And Finally
The third 2025 LEGO Ideas Review is one of the most varied in recent years, demonstrating once again that great LEGO design can come from almost anywhere. From the nostalgia of Jumanji, to the timeless appeal of Universal Monsters, and the artistic elegance of LEGO Kimonos, the successful projects showcase the incredible creativity of the LEGO fan community. Meanwhile, the Parking Lot continues to keep several exciting concepts alive, meaning popular projects such as Naruto, Hollow Knight and the colourful iMac G3 could still earn their place in the LEGO Ideas line-up. For LEGO collectors and LEGO investors alike, the future of LEGO Ideas continues to look exceptionally bright.
