The LEGO Group and Epic Games have teamed up to unveil an exciting new era of creativity: the ability for creators worldwide to design and publish their own LEGO Islands within LEGO Fortnite.
Announced live at the 2024 Game Developers Conference (GDC), this groundbreaking collaboration brings the iconic LEGO System in Play to life in a digital realm like never before. With LEGO elements, styles, and brand assets now available in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative, creators have the power to craft their own LEGO-inspired experiences for players of all ages to enjoy.
Four different templates provide a starting point for creators, enabling them to build diverse and engaging LEGO Islands that can be experienced solo or with friends. To ensure a family-friendly environment, all published LEGO Islands adhere to ESRB and PEGI ratings, as well as Epic Games' parental controls and safety features. Fortnite creators participating in the Island Creator Program may even be eligible for payouts from their creations.
This exciting development marks the latest milestone in the ongoing partnership between Epic Games and The LEGO Group, which began with the launch of LEGO Fortnite in December 2023. Building on the success of previous LEGO Islands, including LEGO Raft Survival and LEGO Obby Fun, new experiences like LEGO Prop Hunt, LEGO Battle Arena, and LEGO Cat Island Adventure promise endless hours of imaginative gameplay for fans.
