These include the LEGO Star Wars Super Star Destroyer (10221) which has tripled in value from its £350 RRP since retiring in 2014 (13% annualised growth) and LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159) which has doubled in value since retiring 3 years ago (27% annualised growth).

75252 Imperial Star Destroyer 31/12/2022 $700 $1,045 49% 26%

Conclusion

An utterly stunning model from the ever reliable Star Wars theme and the great UCS sub-theme, this set has been a LEGO exclusive since release, and even at the highest RRP for a retail set demand is strong. Scheduled to be retired later this year, the set has rarely been discounted and we don’t expect that to change before retirement, you may see 20% discounts if there is still stock but wouldn’t expect any deeper discounting. If the price tag fits within your portfolio and you have the room to store then we would be adding this to the collection before it disappears off the shelves for good.
