21353 LEGO Ideas The Botanical Garden | Get Ready for the Blooming Marvels of the New LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden (21353) Image

The LEGO Ideas theme has consistently delivered some of the most creative and fan-driven sets, bringing unique designs to life from enthusiasts around the world. From the LEGO Typewriter to the nostalgic LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay and the beloved LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set, each release showcases the endless possibilities of LEGO through fresh perspectives. At Investabrick, we're excited about the upcoming launch of the LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden (21353) set, designed by Italy-based LEGO fan Valentina Bima. Valentina’s vision—combining a love for botanical gardens with transparent elements to blur the boundaries between indoors and out—won the support of over 10,000 LEGO fans, ensuring its journey from concept to official set. Due to be launched on November 4th, with LEGO Insiders getting early access from the 1st of the month, this set could make an excellent Christmas present, as well as an investment piece. As an added perk for LEGO Insiders, there's an exclusive GWP (Gift with Purchase) of a botanical garden entrance gate, featuring vibrant flowers, leaves, and a butterfly, making this release all the more exciting for LEGO fans and collectors alike. We take a closer look at the set below:

Set Details

The LEGO® Ideas Botanical Garden (21353) set brings a charming, Victorian-style glasshouse to life, featuring three atriums with removable roofs and walls for easy access to its intricate details. With over 3,792 pieces, the build includes a central atrium with a spiral staircase leading to an observation deck, as well as two side atriums—one featuring an arid garden and the other a cozy café. Outside, vibrant peonies and over 35 plant species are carefully crafted to enhance the scene. This display model for adults also includes 12 LEGO minifigures, including staff and visitors, along with animal figures and accessories like gardening tools and headphones for guided tours. Measuring 22 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 25 cm deep, we think this amazing set is a beautifully detailed addition for any LEGO fan with a love for nature and architecture.

Investment Potential

Occasionally a set comes along that is just such a well-designed, stunning looking set that here at Investabrick we almost push the numbers to the background, and LEGO The Botanical Garden is definitely one of those sets.

From the LEGO Ideas theme LEGO 21353 comes with just under 4,000 pieces and a price per brick of 9c/8p this amazing Ideas model is launched exclusively to LEGO Insiders members on Nov 1st, and to sweeten purchasing at launch, there is the added bonus of the set specific GWP 5009005 LEGO Entrance Gate for LEGO Insiders members.

All that said, the numbers are pretty good and this is a set we think will prove to be a great long term investment once it retires too!

Theme Analysis

The LEGO Ideas theme is consistently one of the strongest themes there is with the retired sets producing average annualised growth of 16% and there have been a number of very strong LEGO investment sets released recently that are currently available. This looks like being another to add to those!

We have looked below at some of the retired LEGO within the wider LEGO Ideas theme including LEGO Voltron (21311) which has more than doubled from its $180 RRP to its $428 current value (annualised growth of 20%) whilst LEGO Doctor Who (21304) has more than trebled in value since retiring in 2016 with a $60 RRP (16% annualised growth) and LEGO Big Bang Theory (21302) has more than trebled in value since retiring in 2016 with a $60 RRP (17% annualised growth).

Comparable Sets

We looked at the retired LEGO sets in the LEGO Ideas theme that aren’t in either the Licensed or Space sub-themes and tried to look at those with the larger RRPs. The whole group has average annualised growth of 14%. These include LEGO Old Fishing Store (21310) which has trebled in value from its $150 RRP since retiring in 2018 (21% annualised growth) and LEGO Maze (21305) has seen nearly 150% total growth from a $70 RRP sine retiring in 2016 (12% annualised growth).

Conclusion

A great build, stunning looking set, from a popular and highly successful LEGO investment theme, a reasonable price per brick and LEGO Exclusivity. What more could you want from a new launch set? That’s right, a set specific LEGO GWP and LEGO 5009005 LEGO Entrance Gate available for LEGO Insiders members between November the 1st and November the 3rd should be all it needs to tip you over the edge to add this set to your collection. Head to LEGO to pre-order yours now.
